Lampung Trip : back to the South

A.k.a Tang(erang) Sel(atan)

We went for a short run again, exploring the other side. Ira lived here during her first 18 years, so she was reminiscing her old days, her school and place where she practiced her swim (she is a good swimmer).

Pahoman Swimming Pool

Remind me, I have to go back to my swim class again, sudah absent dari bulan Mei.

We run for a purpose, Mie Ayam Lampung for breakfast.

Mie ayam Lampung and fresh orange juice

We already stopped by yesterday, too bad the line was too long.

Return to hotel, packing, and check out heading for a (modern) coffee shop. I think This chain coffee-shop is only serve in Lampung.

Had lunch outskirt the city, Cek Mat who provide all-fish-dishes. Heaven!

Udang Bakar, Ikan Belida and Patin Baung for Lunch

We met the owner, who greeted his customers also clean up the table by himself. To make sure all tables are clean before another guests coming.

Then we had to bid farewell to the city, 2 hours drive to Pelabuhan Bakauheni.

Unfortunately, we (again) had horrible experience for ferry boat. Urgh! This one is smaller to compare to the other day, yet more passengers. AC is not working too.

I climbed at the upper deck, people smoke everywhere though there is designated smoking area and threw rubbish everywhere. Yahh kalo kelen masih sengsara, keknya kumengerti. Gw sampe pungutin tuh botol plastik sendiri deh. Gemes!

Ngemper Jek! Di dalam panas

Jikalau kelen menggerutu commutting dengan Taksaka, percayalah, hidup 7 jam di kereta with reliable schedule lebih enak daripada 2.5 jam menyebrang laut :)) dan antri keluar kapal 45 menit.

Approaching Merak Port

Anyway, I stayed in Sheraton Hotel, and had this mark in my room.

I’m puzzled, I don’t remember I have signed any hotel member or alike. I always chose the lowest price of course! For this one, I paid for the same price with my friends but better view.

Then I remember, during my business trip, the company set this hotel for the accommodation. hahahahah.

Ada benernya juga isi isi form, otomatis nama saya sudah ada, regardless who paid for the room. Manyanlahh…rejeki. Biar ngga upgrade kamar, at least you’ll have better room view…if that matters.

Room view

Time for laundry, 10-step-skin care and ngejar commuter line besok pagiiii!!

Until my next trip!

Where to go next?

Lampung Trip – Elephant Can Remember

Lampung Trip – Elephant Can Remember

The Jersey

I woke up this morning with a purpose, I had to do morning run in this hilly city. Owww those hills are killer!

And anyway, Yes, you’re right! We went to Way Kambas National Park this morning, via Metro. i think this is the second largest city in Lampung. Road trip took 2.30 hours. More or less.

We already bought our lunch in the city – the famous Ayam Bergadang – since there are no restaurant at National Park.

The Enterance Gate

Arrived near noon, and since it’s quite far, even from Bandar Lampung, there were not so many visitors.

Male Elephant! How do I know??

We bought a ticket to do jungle tracking for 30 mins. It’s scary! Yet fun!

Elephant Ride

During tracking, we met, a Erin, 4-year-old-elephant that lost her trunk. Our guide told us, she got trapped by the local who wanted to turn her “home” into Palm Plantation.

Fortunately, the ranger could save her, otherwise she might got killed, like her mother.

Human – some said they are the most dangerous creature on earth.

Poor Erin

After we had our lunch by the pool – where the elephants take their bath – then witnessing they had fun in water.

one of them without the guide, ran away, but her front legs were chained, so she wont run far. She was very hungry she kept looking for food even on the rubbish ban! Gee.

But #1 could pat her!

Lost and Hungry Elephant

We cancel our trip to Pungug Raharjo, too late.

Too bad this “rich” country couldnt compete its tourism business with neighborhood countries due to the infrastructure.

We were heading back to Bandar Lampung and saw Durian Seller! Dapat salam dari Liptor! There goes my cholesterol.

King of Fruits. Either you like it or hate it

2nd PS : The title is the book by Agatha Christie published in 1972. i read the book, but I forgot the story.

Lampung Trip : Snorkeling until you drop

We spent the day, by island hopping, to the famous Pulau Pahawang via Pantai Klara, just across the TNI AL complex ( Indonesia’s Marinir)

With a rented boat and snorkeling equipments.

we were sailing again, island hopping and arrived at Pulau Pahawang.

For the only purpose..snorkeling.

heading Pulau Pahawang

And another spot at “Taman Nemo” – this where you can find Nemo – from Finding Nemo the movie.

A floating warung! Can you spot POP MIE?

snorkeling in near Pahawang Island

I don’t have an underwater camera…but hope you can picture beautiful school of fishes, colorful ones, beautiful corals.

both Pahawang and Kolam Nemo had several “instagramable properties” under the water. there were two bicycle wrecks, even a mannequin, and funny writings like

“jangan iri gw liburan di Pahawang

Feeling Pentagon

We had lunch in Pahawang Besar, a very humble lunch cooked by local, with a great view ever! Berasa di Itali Selatan ya?

Our Humble Lunch

Then sailed again to Pulau Kelagian Besar, an uninhabited island, except for these dogs. This is a training ground for Indonesia Marinir.

Actually there were four dogs

In total we spent 7 hours for this trip. Itu aja kurang puassssss!

After arriving back at Pantai Klara, took a shower then we were heading to new instagramable spot, Muncak Teropong Laut, looking out Teluk Lampung.

Teluk Lampung Look Out

Too bad it was cloudy.

We had dinner at the famous Nasi Uduk Toha.

Later, I met my High School friend, who I havent seen since graduate (I doubt tho, is that that long not seeing each other). She had live in this city since early 2000’s. She made cakes! Kalau ada yang tinggal di Lampung mau pesan kue, bisa lewat blio.

Long time no see high school buddy

Iin suggested me to visit Pantai Hiu, too bad it’s too far.

pantai Hiu, taken by iin

PS: today expenses (buat yang planning ke sini ya)

Lampung Trip : crossing the island

Hello world! Wie geht dir?

Ira – my friend who resides in Saudi Arabia – has her homecoming trip and last two weeks asked us to join her to Lampung. road trip, I said yes, so is Vitri.

Then I totally forget about everything until two days ago, we hadn’t book a hotel. But then again, Lampung probably isn’t famous like Bali (?), finally we managed to book room during this school holiday.

So, this morning, we drove off to Merak Port then – for me – this is my very first time crossing the island from Pulau Jawa to Sumatra by ferry, Merak – Bakauheni. Although I was born in Sumatra, visited parents hometown couple of time, I (we)?never did road trip. 😀

I was expecting clean, cozy ferry, secretly hope that those sea services are transforming like PT Kereta Api Indonesia too. I was wrong.

I saw obsolete seats, tap is not working, some parts quite dirty and I wonder how bad it will be during Mudik Hari Raya.

Yes we do!

Anyway, we paid for another room they called it “lesehan” cost IDR 12,000/person. i tried to get some sleep, I failed.I walked around the ferry

The cars

Trip to Bakauheni, Lampung, took 2 hours.

Too bad the sky was cloudy.

Kece ya gw dari belakang? :-))

At 2 pm, we arrived at Bakauheni. This is my first trip to Lampung— kalau tidak salah provinsi ke 20 Republik Ini yang saya sudah kunjungi– strange, I was born in Pulau Sumatra :))

The new toll road, only 7K

Had lunch near by, another 2 hours drive we arrived at Bandar Lampung, ibukota provinsi.

And finally, I can taste Bakso Soni on its origin place. Sooooo many visitors, ntah kayak apalah kalau lebaran.

Semangkok Kebahagian
It is said now the city has a signature snack (like Medan with the famous Bolu Gulung) a banana cake, we bought ones, but didnt taste that special for me.

We had seafood for dinner. i love my country for this. Sooo many good food where ever I am going!

I need some rest now, planning to see the beach tomorrow!

Yes, this “live-journal”

Tried to update during my trip, not after!
