Akhir pekan lalu, saya ke Jogja lagi. Pergi sendiri, tentunya naik kereta! Hahahaah!

To kill the time
Hitung hitung sama saja waktu tempuh.
Pun ketika Kereta berhenti lama (hampir 15 menit) di Purwokerto. Announcer bilang baru berangkat 1.12 pm, tepat jam itu kereta berangkat. Tadinya saya mau beli Bengbeng di Indomaret, ngga berani. Takut ketinggalan keteta
Purwokerto Stop
Diluar perkiraan saya, Ya Allah AC kereta siang itu tetep dinginnn booooo! Menggigil malih! Brrrr.
Tips for me : chose right side if you travel to Jogja, it offers better view! Bring blanket too!
Coffee shop
Hanya berapa meter dari hotel. Bulan April lalu mgga sempat ke sini, tutup terus pas lewat. Ternyata yang punya orang Pondok Aren juga! Hahaahah
Ngapain ke Jogja?
Diah’s wedding
Salah satu kolega nikah. Teman teman lain berangkat sehari sebelumnya.
Sunrise and Mountain Calls
Besoknya, saya rencana beli Bapiaku dan Bakpia Tugu! Snack kekinian kota ini.Habiss booo! Ya Ampun! Jogja weekend kemarin penuh, karena long weekend dan Prambanan Jazz Festival! Pantas sulit cari pesawat (murah).
To kill time, kami ke
Di Keraton Jogja
Pernah dipakai Sultan HB IX.
HTM : IDR 3,000
Perasaan jaman kecil ke sini, lokasi wisatanya luas deh. Kok sekarang dibatasi ya?
Keluar Keraton ke
Musium Kereta Keraton
Ini kereta yang khusus dipakai Sultan. The guide said even his wife is not allowed to hop ini.
Kereta-kereta ini dibuat 1800-an lho!
HTM : IDR 3,000
Isinya koleksi kereta keraton.
Lalu mampir bentar ke Museum Sonobudoyo. Ini museum paling jarang dikunjungi kata guidenya. Padahal HTM cuma IDR 3,000 dan full AC lho! Koleksi benda sejarahnya banyak, contohnya ini.
Al Quran yang dibaca Sultan HB V
Setelah makan siang, balik hotel untuk pesan Go Car. Supirnya sempat kelewatan terus nelpon
“Ini arah Selatanya mbak?”
Ampun dijeee, sini besar di ibukota, ngga paham arah selatan, utara, dsb! Padahal petunjuk arah mata angin ini yang benar dibanding kanan atau kiri.
Cuss, I bid this city farewell. Ampun airport penuh nya.
Oh ya, another tips for me, if you travel back to Cengkareng from Jogja, chose the right side! It gives you mountains view!
Merapi and Merbabu
Till next time Jogja!
I have a very soft spot on our Traditional Fabric, any kind! Si Hanny waktu jaman masih dinas keliling Indonesia pasti kena dititipin plus kopi lokal. Haahhaha.
Nah, lemari Lila ini juga mengkombinasikan kain tradisional dengan model bajunya yang unik dan asimetris and still I can afford it. Sukalah aku!
Laki-laki. Dia juga lagi nyari nyari baju.
Jadi pas saya fitting baju, gantian ruangan deh.
It’s a sign!) mau terima penghargaan dan dia mau makai wardrobe kain khas Indonesia.
Dikasih tau sih nama dan judul filmnya, cuma saya lupa.
Model bajunya kan unik gitu ya, tapi yang namanya seniman, kayaknya cocok cocok saja sama muka mereka. Asik-asik aja gitu hahahah. Ntahlah kalo pakaian serupa dipakai anak kantor saya – the capitalist slave – pasti aneh!
Ini foto kami dengan mbak Lila.
Dia ngakunya tidak sekolah designer, she studied law! How funny life plays with us!! But it’s good to work with your passion.
Mbak Lila asked to post a pic of us wearing her umasterpiece and tag her. My sis already did. Saya belum foto nih! Hahahah.
Last weekend I was in Jogja again, with family and extended ones. Taking Taksaka Train on Friday with Tina, 7 hrs++ journey arrived before dawn. Check in Whizz Premier Malioboro right in front of the Jogja Train Station (I booked from Friday so I can check earlier). Why I choose this hotel? it was designed by my little sister (proud big sister here!) The details are sooo….her!
anyway, take a walk to Mal Malioboro and….reunited with Oki, Reza..to have breakfast in
How we start our Saturday
TGw, Tina and the boys berangkat naik kereta. tapi beda kereta gitu, gw salah booking, harusnya Argo Luwu – departed 30 mins earlier.
Anyway, in that warung-makan there were many visitors with XXX Finisher written on their shirt! own, runners who were just arrived! I happen to meet a familiar face too.
Long story short, after (almost) all Trojans arrived in Jogjakarta, we had luncheon in Bu Ageng (again!)
verdict : I didn’t finish my race! Evacuated in Km 30 (it’s in my Instagram)! Still, I’ll write a recap!
Ah, after the race, I managed to visit some coffee shop, including:
Kafe 80’s Bocor Alus
A unique coffee shop, outskirt of Jogja. They play 80’s music and vintage things as interior.
On The Next Day, with a rented car, I took my kids to see the one of Unesco Heritage site. The famous Buddhist Temple, Candi Borobudur.
Little confession, last time I was here, I was 10 years old! My stupid mistake, I didn’t check how much cash I have left! Fortunately, I can pay the entrance fee IDR 40,000/ per person with debit card.
however, I couldn’t took a guide with us! BIG MISTAKE! When it comes to historic site, I preferred paying a guide rather than taking countless selfies! Uang di dompet tinggal 80,000 gitu. Berapa sih wajarnya bayar guide gitu? Asa ngga tega kasih 50,000 doank. Waktu di Gua Sunyiragi kan site-nya kecil ya. Duh, nyesel sampe sekarang.
Borobudur
The Stupa
Mein Lieblingsbild von Borobudur
Still as beautiful as I remembered it.
When we were about to leave site complex, I decided to rent old car that could take you around the village, via Bukit Manoreh. I wonder why I am so familiar with the name?
Candi Borobudur at the back
The car took us around the village and stopped at ATM Mandiri :)) I asked him too. IDR 150,000/car for 30 mins ride. It was so-so. You can skip it.
Another stoped, Candi Mendut
Candi Mendut
Built in the same era with Borobudur, another Buddhist Temple. Entrance fee is cheap IDR 3,000/person.
Had lunch in Kopi Rolas! oh whyy oh why Telur Goreng Crispy itu enak banget!!!!
Bahagia itu Sederhana
Back to Jogja, strolling around Malioboro.
HI mister! Where do you come from?
Local kids, trying to practice their limited English with foreigner. The couple from UK, overheard 😉
My plan to end the day, was waiting for the sunset in Candi Ijo. The hidden gem in eastern Jogja, up in the hill…between heaven and earth. Unlike previous two temples we visited earlier, this is Hindu Temple, the same site with Prambanan.
Candi Ijo
Mikir Gaji kapan naik #curhat
Too bad it was cloudy. but I love this place, the hill breeze, over look the airport and I wonder it was Monday but still a lot of local visitors (let alone Borobudur! phewww) But that’s good though!
Entrance fee for this site is IDR 5,000/person and it close at 6 pm. Along the way, you can stop at the new tourism site, Tebing Breksi. I didn’t stop by.
The next day, before bidding this city good bye, I took recovery walk. Kak Indah managed to seeme then we had breakfast in kaki lima, not too far from Monumen Tugu.
Tuesday Morning
My #1 turn 14 that day, that’s why we flew home on Tuesday. For her birthday, she wanted to wake up somewhere not in her home :)) Ah, ABG jaman now
Btw, the seller, the lady is in her 80’s, has selling Lupis, Batok,Cendil, Ketan etc since dutch colonial era. Pakai nomor antri lho belinya. Tapi ngga lama banget sih.
Lanjutan dari cerita ini, yeah…since I bought my bike 3 years ago, participating in a cycling tour was one of my dream. Alhamdulilah, kesampaian!
It was granted on July 22nd 2017. The purpose I visited Jogja after 10 years! Sport event so-called-racecation is always special for me. this time, I did with some of my Bintaro Trojan Runners friends. There was Ira- Rahmi, who was home since lebaran (she lives in Saudi Arabia, nooo…not TKW) and “farewell” with Imel who would leave for negara paman Sam , in the next two weeks.
I Did my first bike tour strolling at the other part of this beautiful country. Tour de Amabarukmo 148 K whichwas devided by 5 stages. tiap stages ada pit stop, makanan minuman yang mana menurut saya berlimpah ruah. Segala ada kecuali jodoh!
knowing that I’m suck at endurance, I was planning to stop after 2nd stage (75 K)
But the view, the crowd and the friends were great, I decided to continue. however, I didn’t ride the whole 148K.
Beware, this gonna be a looong post!
Start from hotel Royal Amabarukmo, at 5.30 am. Flag off by Sri Sultan X himself!!! oh em geee, gw mau selfie agak keder sama banyaknya peserta. gangu juga sih!
So, here we go.
First stage 34K
hotel – kantor kelurahan Bumirejo Kulon Progo.
Saya tidak faham Jogja ya. But here’s the route! Straight all the way to Monumen Tugu, turn left to the famous Jalan Malaiboro, saw Beringin Kembar, keraton menuju Kulon Progo. Agak sebal pas daerah luar kota ini, saigan sama kendaraan lain. Rute masih menyenangkan sih overall. Keluar kota pemandangan sawah kiri kanan. Duh saya ingin stop foto foto! Kenapa pada serius pisan!
Second Stage 36K
Kantor kelurahan Bumirejo – Terminal parang tritis Bantul.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE STAGE! The kampung view, it was cloudy and foggy, flat route and OH MY GODNESS! INDONESIA is Dangerously BEAUTIFUL! Saya ride santai, ketemu Dewi, teman waktu ikut Batam Triatlhon dulu. ngobrol sepanjang jalan lalu dia pamitan dan menghilang! I’m too slow for serious cyclist like her. Beberapa kali nyeletuk :
“Stoppp yuk! Gw pengen foto foto!”
Dianggap lalu sama rekan-rekan BTR! Cih! Namun akhirnya Acha mengamini keinginan saya. jadi deh kita foto di sini! Gambar atas.
Ntah dimana.
then an ambulanxe stopped
The officer : “ibu butuh bantuan?”
Gw : ngga mau foto foto aja!
The officer : (mungkin dalam hati) *NGOK!*
After this, we regroup with Abi and Mbak Ira Ciray. This another Ira is over 50 years old and soooo damn strong!!!! I envy her stamina!
Another thing,
This is my first time visiting Parang Tritis Beach ( selfie pic with Acha)
THird Stage 22K Parang tritis – Omah Kupu Panggang Gn. kidul
This the scary stage! Scary because yaaa ampun nanjak ajaaaa gituuuuu! Oh em gee moment!
It was a steep- wadef*kwasthat- hill in Panggang-Parangtritis (after second pit stop) all my dengkul, otot paha and sprocket 28 gears gave up 🤣(pembelaan kaum lemah, kakek2x naik sepeda lipat juga ada).
Many cyclists fell down, trying to conquer the steep hill. they also get cramp. Me? Off the bike I was! nuntun! Barangnya sendiri susah dicaripun. Pas butuh, habis stocknya! #kzl
Ira ciray – kiky – aby
Daerah ini, jalur untuk merebut gelar King/queen Of The Mountain. yang sampai duluan yang menang! Gw akhirnya nyerah 1K menuju finish KOM ini. Diangkut!
Bah! Luluh juga!
I was evacuated by comittee car until King Of The Mountain area, kira-kira daerah paling tinggi lah. Since this is a tour, I may continue the journey. I was looking for the pick up car who took my bike. lucky I found it right away in that crowd. I think the course was friendlier, I continued the rest of third stage to the 3rd pit stop. it was very fun with rolling track! I made new friends along the way. And I did my most favorite thing during race taking selfie with local kid! The most sincere cheerleaders!
Arrive at Omah Kupu around 12 pm (almost 6 hours biking by that time). ICH HABE GROßE HUNGER! Lapaarrr malih!!! I took pop mie and bir pletok! Oh my God! Taste so good!
fourth stage 42K
GUnung Kidul – Candi Prambanan
On the fourth stage, It was a very steep- downhill. I freaked out in less than 10 minutes! Nangis bok! Clueless what to do next as I didn’t see any support car. Tapi namanya rejeki anak sholeh…suddenly there was a sound behind me
“Mbak kiky kenapa?”
“Saya takut turunan pak!” (Takut mati)
“Mau naik mobil saya saja?”
Haleluuuyaaa!
Wonder how did he know my name? Our bib number with complete name must stick on the back of our jersey!
Well, in short, I put my bike on his rented pick up. Then continue the rest of fourth stage with the car (ada supir juga) He and his son were also participating on the event. He gave up after the third pit stop and he was guarding, Aji, his only child. Duh, saya mau nangis ngebayanginnya. Orangtua sama anak tuh apa saja dilakukan ya! Even small thing like this! Of course we made talk during the trip. He really understand the whole system so I asked :
“bapak Direktur ya di sana?”
“Yah, begitulah mbak. Karyawan yang harus mengerti semuanya!”
Meniii humble pisann si bapak, teh!
Aji is quite a strong cyclist. Amin pak! Semoga segera!
selama perjalanan ke Candi Prambanan, saya membatin: “Sudah jam 2! Teman teman yang lain sudah selesai nih. Sudah pada istirahat di hotel” but when I arrived in Candi Prambanan…
SUNGGUH AKU TERHARU!!! PADA NUNGGUIN SAYA DEMI BISA FOTO DI SITU!!!
Then continue the whole 5th stage until the finish line. Jogja’s traffic was not friendly at all by that time! Finish at 4pm!
It was my longest ride to date with so many stories to brag!
One bucket list ✅
With all the support from both my (real) family and extended ones , who understand this slow kerbau and patiently waiting for me in Candi Prambanan area for more than 1 hour – sampai- diusir -satpam.
I love you! you know who you are!!!
Strava screencap is on the map and elevation course taken from Ashar’s.
Btw, do you know that this Governor was also a participant?
Taken from TDA facebook.
Keren banget pak Ganjar yaa!!! Istrinya pun rajin latihan nanjak lho!!!
Anyway, along the friendly tracks I keep humming
“…
Musisi jalanan mulai beraksi
Seiring laraku kehilanganmu
Merintih sendiri
Ditelan deru kotamu …”
.
Tetap gendut, tambah hitam muka penuh pasir I dont careeeee!
i’ve been doing sport since I was a kid (swimming course twice a week, softball, basket ball) but never do it seriously. Just to kill my ABG time (I lived with my parents and they had two helpers, nafff said!)
Anyway,i’ve done races here and there since 5 years ago. and as I read my late post, how I conquer my first 10K race, then my virgin Half Marathon, the Triathlon then Marathon … i went like
“Ya elahh Ky…10K aja meni lebay pisan!”
segala takut kram, kepanasan, dll dll.
the night before my first 10K, I cant sleep. macam anak SD mau dharmawisata saat itu. Too overwhelming.
yang sudah ikut half ironman race waktu saya posting race pertama 10K ngikik kali ya? (Anyone?) Aber so, if I read my virgin triathlon race recap, still somehow I am proud of myself. bihiksss…
I only had my bike for 3 months, never been on open water trail until one day before race day, not using cleat for my bike, yet…I managed to squeeze the obstacles. Not in good timing, of course! But still! Do Count any female with hijab doing Triathlon on that year 😉
And owh, there are several races that I also met my readers. ” sikiky ya” For instance. Bahahahahha
Ish…bangga bukan main sayah! #disambitbidon.
Owh well, I didn’t join race as much as I did in 2013-2014, however…I set my bar higher a little bit. I am competing with my old me, not with anybody else.
