I didn’t write this poem, someone write this on my other social network, and I fell in love with this poem the moment I read it.
I don’t know…it seemed suits with my current life affair

mengenang sejenak perjalanan
menikmati kembali sebuah tarikan nafas
sekepal episode yang –harus — terlupakan
nun jauh tersembunyi
lelap bersemayam di rongga dada….hening..dan degup sang waktumelambat, ..
hampir berhenti
hingga akhirnya kita lepaskan, untuk kembali,
menyatu dengan debu-debu kehidupan
detik riang kembali berlari,..seperti biasa

a-two-day trip around east Java

I was HOLIDAY-ing again!

This place (and the trip) has been my biggest passion all this time! I recalled there was three times I had to kiss Bromo Trip good bye, ya kan Panda?

were flrying with Mandala to Surabaya, arrived at 10.00 pm, our team (26 of us) went straight forward to Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger which took +/- 4 hours by car (we took ELF btw). Gee, I caught sore throat! ‘Not delicious body’.

Arrived early at the entry gate on 2.30 am, we had to wait for another 30 minutes before driving back to Penanjakan Parking Lot. Yes, we were the first ones, arrived at Penanjakan parking , our car park close to the spot.

Tip from me : arrive as soon as possible at Penanjakan, otherwise — the best (and closest) parking spot — are taken! You had to walk quite far! (and quite tiring as you climb a hill).

After we had our ginger tea at a small shop that scattered around the area, before 4.30 am we waited for the sunrise. Man it was cold!

“tadinya saya pikir ada suara arus sungai, ternyata suara angin yang bertiup kencang”

And yes, the sunrise is worth to wait, Alhamdulilah no rain… no fog…and finally I can snap the magnificent Bromo from Penanjakan!

I’m in Heaven!

Since it was on weekend there were many visitors….local and abroad. If you want to snap Kawah Bromo like I did, be there early.

At around 6.00 am we were heading to Sea Sand, riding a horse and climbing up to Bromo’s peak! The magnificient Kawah Bromo! Way up high! As urban people who moved every now and then (except me, I went to gym class, hehehheh) most of us cought short of breath. Ngosh ngosh…we stop every 5 steps I guess!

And off course, just like last year, my team won’t pass the change to take silly pictures! You can see the rest of them in my FB Profile .

Had simple breakfast at Cemoro Lawang and hour and half later drove back to Malang.

This is my first visit to Malang. We stayed at Kartika Graha (Jl. Jaksa Agung Supranto) a nice an-affordable (3 or 4?) -star- hotel!

After taking a bath (gee, we hadn’t had one for the last 24 hours,bau bliket jadi 1 !) , Widya and I fell to sleep until 4.30 pm!

Since it was my first visit and I only had a short time, I drag my butt away from room 806!

Five mins walk from the hotel, Widya and I stop by at one of Malang’s cullinary The Famous Pia Cap Mangkok! There were variety of its flavor, I took CHEESE (ada rasa kopi, kacang hijau, duh apa lagi. ya…?)

Not only the famous PIA, the store sells variety of snacks like the ones you’d probably see in Jl.Cihampelas Bandung.

We walk back along the side to the famous, all time favorite Restauarant “TOKO OEN” and old restaurant since 1930, I had Cheese Toast while Widya ask for Toko Oen Special Ice Cream.

People said, the ingridients of the ice cream had’t change since it was first made. Unlike nowdays ice cream, it didn’t taste “creamy”, more likely to Es Puter. Still, it is delicious!

Finished our snack at 5.30 pm but Magrib time already, Widya and I choose becak riding to take us back to hotel and it cost Rp 15.000…hadeh! it suppose to be half price of it!

At night we had dinner in Ringin Asri Restaurant, nothing special about this, then heading to Batu Night Spectaculer, a theme park 30 mins away from the city! If only I had my kiddos with me.*snif snif*

We went to Rumah Hantu and Lampion Garden only…

Back to Hotel at 11.00 pm sharp

Woke up late at 5.30 am, after I had my (late) shubuh prayer, I hired a becak to explore the city. Widya refused to come with me, and I don’t mind with my solitary trip.

I don’t take my (any) first visit for granted

I only went to Tugu, the highlight/landmark of the city. Located in front of Kantor Walikota Malang and the famous Toegoe Hotel. Due to limitted time, I passed Und Cafe, a famous cafe in Hotel Toegoe.

and Jl. Ijen…a prestige neighborhood in Malang.

Heading back to hotel, check out, our bus took us to Wisata Agro Kusuma Batu

You may chose tour packages which are varies from Rp 30.000 – Rp 50.000, (I forgot).

We hired a cart and the driver will act as a tour guide.

Inside Apple Garden, you can pick your own apple up to 2 pieces (owh, they have strawberry garden as well, but we found it too ordinary, so we skip this part).

They also have some animals, variety of birds, chickens, Lutung, Siamang, deers, which live in the cage. A (suppose to be) mini zoo.

Ha! My kiddos will love this!

Headed to Warung Bamboo Restarurant for lunch which offers nice dining as well as the interior!

We do-like-a fish- therapy, a famous therapy that scattred in famous shopping malls in Jakarta. Man, those fishes are HUGE!!!!!

Had finished our lunch, headed back to Surabaya, stop by at Toko Tanjung Sidoarjo to buy some kripiks, pecel, sambal terasi and (again) variety of foods. An hour later, we stopped at a restarant (again!!!!) but I didn’t recall its name then headed to Juanda..

there…

I realized I LOST MY IPOD!!!! it might fell in the bus…arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh…..

but anyway, we are happy…!

And for Malang’s people…I fall in love with your city A re-visit is a must!

The October book(s)

October will come to the end, and I had my spare time to read these books :

The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency series of novels by Scottish author Alexander McCall Smith.

It tells a story far away in Botswana, Africa. Before Obed Ramotswe died, he told her only daughter to stand on her own, be an independece woman (mean she has to look after her self, make her owns ends meet). Mma Ramotswe said yes yet refuse to look after her late daddy’s cattle and open a detective agency instead. Strange and unusal, more over she is a female. But, there she was, people came to her ask her to find ones son/daughter/husband, the doctor who act strange every now and then.

An easy reading yet entertaining. If you read “Detektif Cilik Hawkeye and Ami Collins, Pasukan mau tahu” in your childhood, probably this book brought your memories back

Now the famous Negri 5 Menara. by A. Fuadi.

In my opinion, this book is a combination between Laskar Pelangi and Malory Tower serials (If your childhood during the 80’s,I bet you read this serial as well – and owh….I read the translated ones of course back in those year ) or probably Harry Potter suits better ?

Cerita tentang persahabatan enam anak bangsa ini dari sudut dari sisi seorang Alif Fikri, lelaki asal Sumatra Barat yang awalnya dipaksa oleh Amak (ibunya) untuk belajar di Pesantren Modern ini. Bersama 5 temannya berjuang menuntut pengetahun umum dan agama dengan segala suka dan duka. Banyak kalimatnya yang membuai saya, salah satunya pada tulisan ini dan satu lagi menjelang akhir buku. Disini diceritakan kenapa Baso, pemuda asal Gowa yang memang terlahir miskin mati-matian belajar menghafal Alquran selama di Pesantren, dan blio berucap…

“kalian tahu aku sudah habis-habis mencoba menghapal Al Quran. Sudah selama ini (hampir 4 tahun-red) aku baru hapal 10 juz atau sekitar 2000 ayat. Aku ingin semuanya, lebih dari 6000 ayat. Tahukah kalian, ada sebuah hadist yang mengajarkan bahwa kalau seorang anak menghapal Al Quran, maka kedua orang tuanya akan mendapat jubah kemuliaan di akhirat nanti. Keselamatan akhirat buat kedua orang tuaku…”

(Saya ngga cerita ya, kenapa sampai Baso ngomong ini…ngga seru nanti).

And there goes my tears …

I recalled the never ending arguments between me and my mother every now and then which still happen every now and then.

Satu lagi, buku ini juga membuka mata saya selama ini saya mengira pendidikan pesantren sebegitu “kolotnya” and this book proof me wrong.

PS : maybe the next 10 years I’ll negotiaite with my kiddos mau sekolah di pesantren ato engga . Tapi entar jadinya kayak tante fitra ya? hmmmmm *ketok2x jari ke meja*

As I came to my supervisor’s desk bringing the proposal to be checked, he asked me:
‘Are you in love ?’
‘He?’
‘I can see your face glowing’
‘Really…?No, I’m not…not that kind of fall in love ,but yes…I’m happy… ~~and use a beauty product,currently~~ ‘ may be that explain.
‘When you’re in love your face is glowing you know…’ he muttered.

Update: I am currently reading Negeri 5 Menara by A.Fuadi. As I hit pp.107, a paragraph struck me:
“Resep lainnya adalah tidak pernah mengijinkan diri kalian dipengaruhi oleh usur di luar diri kalian.Oleh siapapun,apapun dan suasana bagaimanapun. Artinya jangan mau sedih,marah,kecewa dan takut karena faktor luar.Kalianlah yang berkuasa terhadap diri kalian sendiri, jangan serahkan kekuasaan kepada orang lain. Orang boleh meodong senapan, tapi kalian punya pilihan untuk takut atau tetap tegar…”
Gee…another line suits with my life lately…
My face will be ‘glower’ then.

cerita aku dan teman-temanku (yang lucu lucu)

Tadi siang saja jadi bahan cemooh dua teman saya, si cantik De dan si lebih cantik lagi Diaz . yang memang kemampuan kamuflasenya bisa berubah secepat Peter Paker berubah menjadi Spiderman, dari awalnya bermulut manis bisa setajam silet.

Pasalnya, saya lagi suka banget sama lagu-lagunya John Mayer terutama Stop this Train. Jujurnya baru ngikutin sebulan ini saja sih setelah membaca ocehan salah satu kolega saya di twitternya (atau di status Facebooknya ya?) yang hobi berat dengerin alunan suara blio. Seenak apa siy musik artist kelahiran 16 Oktober 2007 ini? Lagu pertama yang saya search via goole tertambat di lagu STOP THIS TRain… Jiah..pas banget dengan keadaan pagi hari sekitar jam 7.15 di Stasiun Sudimara, berharap kereta berhenti dan saya bisa masuk tanpa berdesak-desakann.

Sangking kesemsemnya sama gitar Jhon Mayer ini, saya sampai nyari siapa yang bisa main gitar dan memainkan lagu itu untuk saya rekam dan dijadikan ringtone. Hal ini saya tanyakan ke email dimana kedua makhluk gemar berkamuflase ini juga diikutkan.

Mulailah petaka itu datang ….lompat ke media komunukasi maya berikutnya, mereka menyilet hati saya yang sedang kesengsem berat sama pria berinisial JM ini.

PS : yang saya buramkan ngga ikutan dalam konteks, jadi dihapus sajah…:D

Rese kan? padahal saya haqul yakin kedua makhluk berbeda berat badan secara signifikan ini pasti sama dengan saya dua bulan lalu, ngga tau seperti apa alunan gitar akang John!!!!!!

Dan membaca liriknya saya jadi tambah suka sama lagu ini hehehehhe.

Saya menangkapnya “train” disini adalah kehidupan sendiri yang kita jalanin sehari-hari. Ngga selamanya mulus dan mungkin sering terucap “duh…kok gini banget sih…” tapi cara paling mudah menghadapi masalah kehidupan ya dengan menyelesaikannya, tidak perlu memaksa kereta berheti…. tidak perlu menunda nunda…setelah masalah satu selesai, pasti ada masalah lain.

Mau denger lagunya…? Stop this train

Dan mau tau, gambar apa yang rusak esensinya karena komen kami eh…mereka…?

anyway, mendengar lagu ini (saat ini) menjadi morning boost saya (selain Nescafe Mochaccino)…

Masalah memang selalu ada, selama kereta api itu berjalan….

PS : eh “double D”….kalo album terbarunya rilis yang ada single Who Says pada beli CD-nya ya…jangan cari bajakan MP3 *entar gue pinjem import ke Ipod*
